Ashlee (and Irish, in his own right) started me down the road to holistic pet care. I started learning nearly from the start that conventional medicine is not always what it’s cracked up and touted to be. A BIG piece of the puzzle is far too often missing from the care our pets receive, and I became determined to find out what that piece was. It turned out to be much more than one simple piece but a whole series of pieces that fit together in an intricate pattern. Over-vaccination, poor diet, toxic chemicals in our yards and homes, and overuse of potentially toxic medications. Add that to poor genetics in some cases, and you have a recipe for complete disaster!
It has been a long and often exceedingly difficult road to walk, but I would not have altered my path in any way to make it less painful or emotional for me. I have learned far too much from each of my furbabies to want to change how things have gone. I hope I can help others along that same road, perhaps make the travel a bit easier, the rocky spots a little shorter. In the end, the difficulties can only make things better and healthier for future furbabies if we choose to learn from the past and the present ones who share our lives.
